Absent Friends?
So some of the college generation before me are planning a reunion and it made me think about all the people I knew over the years and lost touch with. What made me think of even it even more though … Continue reading
Pokémon Take Back The Night in Cheltenham?
It was about 2.30pm yesterday and a beautiful sunny afternoon; I was walking along Cheltenham High Street when I first noticed the two elegantly dressed, seemingly normal women. They were in their 30’s I guess, and as they approached I … Continue reading
A Serious Warning to University of Gloucestershire Students: They Aren’t Lying To You About Cars (Updated for 2023)
Quick update for 2023: unsurprisingly quite a lot has changed since I wrote this but mainly the situation has got worse with permits costing more and parking being almost impossible in St. Paul’s as the permit scheme continues to spread. … Continue reading

How I came to organise a Convention (and why you probably should too!).
Firstly, and foremost. It is all Kevin’s fault. I never set out to organise anything – organisation and me are distant acquaintances, at the best. I rarely know what day it is; I sometimes struggle to recall the year. I … Continue reading
Important: Don’t Be A Fashion Victim Tonight
The reason I’m writing this is I just saw, at 3pm on the High Street, a woman of about 18 wearing a minidress and as far as I could see without staring at her no tights, yet a hat and scarf in the snow. Some people at the bus stop pointed her out, and she seemed quite happy. Fair enough – but tonight Cheltenham will have women out clubbing (and men too topless I expect) and I want to just say this — there is a real danger, and yes you can run round completely naked while sober in snow, and maybe be OK, but cold and alcohol are potentially deadly. Please be careful, and have fun! Continue reading
Haunted by Halloween
‘Tis Halloween night, and CJ can look out on the street, confident that soon ghosts will come a rapping and knocking at his door. Goblins and Vampires too – and while recording the knocks echoing through the maison CJ will … Continue reading
The Case Against “Paranormal Unity”; or why Ghost Hunters have become meaningless.
Those who know me probably know that I am a ghost hunter. What does that actually mean, in real terms? Do I wear a pith helmet and shorts, and carry an elephant gun, and like the big game hunters of … Continue reading →
