Ok, over on the rationalskepticism.org forum a few weeks back one of the posters Nautilidae suggested we do a podcast. Despite being “Jerome the Anglican” on a predominantly atheist forum – it’s the one that was born out of the closure of Richard Dawkin’s forum — I was asked to take part. 🙂
So one afternoon we all sat down by our computers, and someone suggested the topic should be “Extraterrestrial Life”. Unfortunately we decided to use Skype, which is fine for chatting, but a bit of a pain for anything like this. We got the hang of it eventually, and set up a group call – only to find Nautilidae could not get connected, but was on a parallel group call. Chaos followed, and we all decided in the end what the heck and just recorded our rambling chat — which was probably a bad mistake. Natselrox disappears for large sections trying to fix the problem, and I was trying as well, but in the end we ended up with about an hours chat between Natselrox, Paul Almond, Hackenslash and me, as Jerome – forum names, we were not so baptismally challenged!
Unfortunately our lack of planning shows, as does the absence fo the host Nautilidae and so we ended up with a very free-form, wide ranging conversation, just a chat among friends on a Saturday afternoon, and of course not necessarily well informed one! Still we gave it a go, and if you are really bored the Rational Skepticism Podcast Episode Zero can be heard here —
I’m the second voice heard after Hackenslash’s groovy theme music and his opening.
